A Few of My Favorite Things

I hope that yesterday's breakfast ideas were helpful to some of you. Here a just a few of my current favorite snack ideas to get you started.

* Mix almonds and raisins together (golden raisins seem to be more tasty than the dark variety).

* If you have a more picky eater on your hands try mixing almonds with Goldfish. Both are a hit with my son.

* Mix yogurt and chunks of fruit for a light morning or after-nap snack.

* Top Triscuits with cheese and melt in the toaster or microwave. If you have a more adventurous eater you can try flavored Triscuits, like Fire Roasted Tomato and Olive Oil, which are currently in our cabinet. Yum.

* Slice bell peppers and give them some dip such as hummus or ranch to go with it. Orange and red bell peppers are especially sweet. Most kids will love them. And if your child is like mine dip makes everything more fun!

* Cherry tomatoes are another great snack that couldn't get any easier. You can give them dip to go with these as well, or offer them alone. These are one of my son's favorite things to eat. They, like bell peppers, are sweet and, as far as they know, could be a fruit!

Good luck with your own little ones! Remember, start small if you have picky eaters. But continue to offer them a variety of new foods. They, like you, will come to love them!
